Welcome to Roosevelt Magnet School
Welcome to our website.
Roosevelt Magnet School is a unique school to Peoria Public Schools District 150 and Central Illinois, serving pre-kindergarten through eighth grades. We offer specialized classes in the performing and visual arts. Students in grades 5 through 8 are selected to attend Roosevelt based on a district wide assessment, and auditions that are held for the selected 4th graders going into the 5th grade. Students in the primary grades (K-4) are neighborhood students as well as some magnet students (out of the attendance area).
We have developed strong community partners with WCBU radio station and Bradley University through the Kemper Foundation.
We are continuously adding to our technology to make sure our students are able to compete in a society that is technology driven. Our middle schoolers (grades 5-8) have the added benefit of 90 minute math and language arts classes. In addition to all that we offer we also provide our students with certified tutors and intervention time that is built into the schedule at all grade levels.
In addition to a strong, academic curriculum, we offer students the opportunity to experience a variety of arts taught by highly-qualified arts teachers. The arts include dance, vocal music, instrumental music, visual arts, and drama. Students perform at the introductory, middle, and advanced levels. We go into the community to perform, and bring in professionals to share their experiences with our students. We focus on supporting our student’s development academically, artistically, physically, emotionally, and socially. We realize that for some students, a standard learning environment does not fully address their needs. An art-rich environment allows successes for many students who, strengthened by these experiences, also do well in their academics. 1. CERTIFIED BIRTH CERTIFICATES (Not hospital document)
You may get them from the Peoria County Courthouse or Peoria Health Dept.
